"If you're BRAND NEW to knife maintenance, this will cover the basics in a hurry, but honestly? Think about what you're getting! - A toothbrush. - Q-tips - A little rubber mat - a little soft case . . . come on man, you can get all that for five bucks AND have enough to buy spares for all your other q-tipping and tooth-brushing needs. I've reviewed elsewhere how my frugal Midwestern (pay for quality not labels) brain is underwhelmed by the garden-variety sharpener. . . . and "dental picks" or "corrosion picks" can be bought for pennies at many hardware stores. And gun, stores, actually. The kit works. If you need to get started in a hurry, or are buying a present for somebody who needs guidance, go for it. Otherwise, DIY it and use the money to buy some cool bits or a replacement clip for yourself."
