"The fero rod makes decent sparks but the plastic holding the rod is brittle. My signal fell off my truck's tail gate at work and the plastic broke that holds the fero rod in. As for the whistle part. . it collected lint well. I wish there was an alternative tool that could fit in the open slot of the signal in its place because I didn't see the value in replacing it."
"Love the Multi-tool itself, but why did they make the whitsle and ferro rod plastic? It literally broke a week after owning it. I dropped the multi-tool. Then later saw the plastic portion of the ferro was cracked and breaking apart. Metal would have been better."
"Perfect fit replacement. I chose a different color than the knife originally came with, and it looks distinct. cool. one word of advice- and if you’re here, you may be aware already: be careful loaning your Signal out. Be sure to show them all the features and how to use them so they don’t “accidentally“ lose your whistle/striker. It occurred to me that this may be a good candidate to include in a micro emergency kit, independent of the knife, etc."

"Fire starter works as advertised. Love that you can swap it out when it's worn out too. I did the test whistle which is also pretty loud. Like everything else from Leatherman, very well thought out and manufactured."
